Wyatt's Warriors are out to raise awareness of Congenital Heart Defects (CHD's), and money for the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at SicKKids Hospital and families affected by Congenital Heart Defects.
Inspired by Wyatt, our amazing brave little warrior born April 27th, 2007, we started out in January 2008 by selling CHD Awareness bracelets and jewellry, branched out into a golf tournament in June 2008, a bus trip, a gala, and so it continues.... We lost our brave, handsome warrior on May 16th, 2009, and we know many other families who have also lost their little warriors to CHD's along the way, but we have not and will not, give up our fight against CHD's. We will continue to hold several yearly events in hopes that we will make a difference i the lives of other CHD children and their families. We hope to continue to help families connect with other families in similar situations, and help support each other.
We hope to raise awareness not just to the general public, but also to the government, and to lobby for some changes in prenatal screening and newborn testing.
We will continue to fund various projects at Sick Kids to help CHD kids and families, and improve their quality of life.
Our ultimate hope and wish, is that one day no family will have to suffer through the loss of their child because of a CHD.
