On February 06th, 2004, our daughter Isabella was born. Everything went
normal, until the nurse brought her to me and noticed that Isabella was
turning blue. The Pediatrician on call was asked to examine Isabella and
within hours she was transported to NCCU at SickKids. As it turns out
Isabella had TGA-(Transposition of the Great Arteries) and 2 VSDs - Holes
(Venticular Septal Disorder). She needed open heart surgery as soon as
possible. Her heart was "fixed" on Feb 11th, 2004. Because of SickKids we
are fortunate that Isabella leads a normal, active and happy life. She
stills goes for her annual check up. After Isabella's 1st Birthday, I knew
there was something I had to do to help others with CHD. So in Feb 2006, I
held the very 1st FROM THE HEART GALA. This is where I met Laura Celsie -
President and Founder of Wyatt's Warriors Foundation. Due to personal
health Issues, I was no longer able to organize events on my own.....so I
decided to join this wonderful foundation, Wyatt's Warriors. Through this
journey, we have met many families and CHD angels, CHD Fighters and CHD
Surviours. To know that this Foundation has helped and will continue to
help all those with CHD makes it worth it to continue to do what we do.
